Ms. Marvel: Main Comic Book Villains, Ranked Lamest To Coolest

0

Ms. Marvel debuted in Marvel Comics in 2013 and quickly became one of the top heroes in the Marvel Universe. Alongside Miles Morales's Spider-Man, the two remain the faces of the teenage superheroes in The Champions, while both also appearing with The Avengers. However, Ms. Marvel doesn't have a big rogues' gallery that some other heroes have.

Kamala Khan is a character that deals with her friends and social issues at school almost more than she does fighting supervillains. However, that does not mean that Ms. Marvel doesn't have villains specific to her character, both those with superpowers and those who have made her life difficult through the years.

10 The Inventor

The Inventor debuted in Ms. Marvel Vol. 3 #5 and was one of Ms. Marvel’s most bizarre villains. The origin was crazy, as Gregory Knox attempted to create a clone of Thomas Edison, but it all went wrong when the DNA mixed with Knox’s cockatiel.

What resulted was a human/cockatiel hybrid with genius-level intellect. While using Thomas Edison’s name, The Inventor used teenage volunteers to serve as a battery for a machine he built to create robots that attacked the city.

9 Doc.X

Doc.X debuted in Ms. Marvel Vol. 4 #14 by G. Willow Wilson and Takeshi Miyazawa. Doc.X was not human. Instead, she was a sentient computer virus created by the administrator of the game World of Battlecraft.

When the AI began to self-learn from observing others, she took control of various networks and devices in New York. When Doc.X blackmailed Kamala Khan, knowing her secret identity and threatening her friends, Ms. Marvel had to set out to stop the villain.

8 Doctor Faustus

Johann Fennhoff is Doctor Faustus, a villain who first appeared in Captain America #107 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. While he has been around for much longer than Kamala Khan, he became an enemy of Ms. Marvel when he tried to set up a new Hydra operation in New Jersey before the Secret Empire event.

He kidnapped Ms. Marvel’s friend Bruno when he learned about Hydra and Ms. Marvel came in and stopped them in Ms. Marvel Vol. 4.

7 The Government

While not a supervillain, there has been no one more disruptive in Ms. Marvel's life than the actual U.S. Government. After the Secret Empire event, Kamala Khan went back to school and Roxxon's Asgardian Dragon attacked the school, putting Khan into a coma. As a result, the U.S. Government created Kamala's Law.

This law banned any underaged superhero from operating as a vigilante without a mentor. The teens who didn’t follow the law ended up locked away in a reprogramming center, and this was all done in Kamala’s name.

6 C.R.A.D.L.E.

When the Kamala’s Law started, the government worked with Roxxon to create an independent security force called C.R.A.D.L.E. to arrest and lock away the teenage superhero vigilantes operating outside the law. However, this group went too far most times. They arrested high school students who wouldn’t sign a deal to snitch on their friends, and Captain America had to save them.

As for Ms. Marvel, she faced the strongest of them all, World War II hero Dum Dum Dugan. It was Ms. Marvel that convinced Dugan that he was on the wrong side this time.

5 Becky St. Jude

Ms. Marvel got her start when she met Carol Danvers after gaining her powers via the Terrigen mists. This put her in a difficult situation in the second Civil War. Captain Marvel put Kamala in charge of a team of volunteers using Ulysses’ visions properly. Becky St. Jude was the leader of that group.

Becky was completely loyal to Captain Marvel’s goal of stopping people before they committed crimes, and Ms. Marvel doubted the entire situation. Ms. Marvel refused to stand by Carol anymore and had Becky, now calling herself Lockdown, arrested for impersonating a law enforcement officer.

4 Kamran

Kamran was arguably Ms. Marvel’s most dangerous villain, because she really liked him. Kamala’s parents invited old friends to visit and Kamala met their son Kamran. The two developed a close friendship and bonded, and eventually dated too. That is when she learned he was an Inhuman as well.

Kamran could move between his human form and a body made of glowing blue energy, which he could then transfer to something else which would explode. However, Kamran ended up part of an extremist terrorist organization that wanted to bring down Attilan. Eventually, Kamran turned his attention on Kamala’s family, becoming a dangerous enemy.

3 Kaboom

Kaboom was a villain that Ms. Marvel faced after she explored her connection with the Inhumans. Kaboom was a member of a radical Inhuman terrorist organization that wanted to overthrow Queen Medusa and show their superiority to humans.

Appearing for the first time in Ms. Marvel Vol. 3 #13 by G. Willow Wilson and Takeshi Miyazawa, she helped break Kamala’s heart by working with Kamran, who Khan liked. Kamala was so angry when fighting Kaboom that she was one of the few villains Ms. Marvel let loose on, hitting the villain so hard she broke her neck.

2 Roxxon

Ms. Marvel’s most dangerous villain is not a supervillain, but a successful corporation. Roxxon Energy Corporation first debuted in Captain America #180 in 1974. However, they have become a significant part of the Marvel Universe concerning young heroes.

They are the corporation that convinced the government to ban young heroes because of their battles with the Champions. They also helped coin the term Kamala’s Law, and they have used Ms. Marvel as an unwitting face of their evil plans to bring down all young heroes.

1 Stormranger

Ms. Marvel has a doppelganger that is more powerful than Kamala Khan herself. Stormranger is Kamala Khan’s version of Venom, but instead of a symbiote alien creating a costume with a mind of its own, Stormranger was a Nanosuit with a mind of its own.

Just like when Venom became Spider-Man’s most hated enemy when he rejected the alien, Stormranger became Ms. Marvel’s greatest enemy when she rejected the battlesuit. Stormranger set out to destroy Ms. Marvel for this rejection, but most recently left Earth to move on with her existence.
