Manchester United Cool Interest In Target Due To Club’s Valuation
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to bring a solid right-back into his squad who could provide Aaron Wan-Bissaka with real competition for his place in the team.
Manchester United have also been looking at a more attacking alternative to Wan-Bissaka and Trippier has been on their radar since the winter transfer window.
The former Tottenham star is believed to be keen on a return to England and coming from a family of Manchester United fans, he is open to a move to Old Trafford.
But Atletico Madrid have demanded a fee of £28m and Manchester United have decided to put those talks on the backseat for the moment.
The Premier League giants want Trippier and are prepared to offer a fee of £10m to take him back to England.
But the Spanish champions do not want to lose him and have set a high asking price in order to fend off interest in him.
Trippier also has two years left on his contract and Atletico Madrid are not under any pressing need to sell him.
It remains to be seen whether the defender pushes for a move once England’s European Championship campaign comes to an end.
