Former MLB pitcher Bud Norris could no longer wait for ValleyCats
Norris, 36, is joining the Winnipeg Goldeyes of the American Association, according to his agent, Scott Lonergan. The Goldeyes are playing their home games in Jackson, Tenn. this season because of COVID-19 restrictions at the Canadian borrder.
Norris' first preference was to pitch as a closer for the ValleyCats in an effort to get back to the major leagues. But he's ready now after training at his home in Austin, Texas and the ValleyCats don't have a roster spot because they're already at the maximum of three veterans allowed by the Frontier League.
"Pete did right by Bud helping him find a landing spot," texted Lonergan, referring to ValleyCats manager Pete Incaviglia.
