Yankees select Columbia High graduate Danny Watson in MLB draft

Watson, a 6-foot-7, 235-pound right-handed pitcher from Nassau, just completed his sophomore year at Virginia Commonwealth University. He was 2-4 with a 4.06 earned-run average this season and 55 strikeouts in 44 1/3 innings.
