Fair play and I am sorry as I enjoy coming on here. I’ll take a break .
But I just don’t like hypocrisy and I’m trying to point that out, I’ve said the same on our board as we have two players in recent team who have served time, for attacks on women. I pointed this out when we signed them and said how wrong it was, yet not much resistance. Now people are turning on Zak saying some pretty unpleasant things about us resigning him….
He’s done far less!
Hes done enough to be released by Wigan (and I suspect there'll be a little more to it than late for training)
However, your fatal mistake here is trying to tell is what we should think
The club gave him a chance (and maybe it suited both parties at the time) and within a few months he'd nearly blown that.
The fans were 50/50 I would say on him in the first place, but he gradually after the initial blip won a lot over.
He gave us 3 years of decent rugby (trust me mate, after 12 months I commented that although he's been pretty good the main thing having him at FB taught me was just how good Tomkins was) and started playing up in year 3 at the back end of last season.
He did what he wanted and moved back to Yorkshire (and despite peoples opinions either way on that subject The end of the day its his decision do it, so fair enough he lives with that decision) but couldn't maintain the discipline/professionalism required to continue at Wigan
So, end of the day, he created this situation, not Wigan
I'd be pretty confident in saying that a LARGE majority of Wigan fans will back Peet and the club on this and trust them to have done the right thing
You may be excited, feel he's a great signing etc.
But don't try and make the mistake of telling gus what to feel or think about it
We're pretty much 100% happy we did the right thing
