Chakwera in an emergency meeting with Ministers…Veep Chilima in Attendance  

Malawi President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his Vice Dr. Saulos Chilima are reportedly holding an emergency cabinet meeting at the Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe.

According to a statement posted on State House Facebook page, high on the agenda are issues of economic management in view of the rising cost of living and commodities like fuel.

State House further says during the meeting there will be a review of existing and upcoming measures for cutting public spending in pursuit of the austerity measures announced on May 31.
