S.Korean banks' lending rate to households hits 8-year high in May

SEOUL, June 30 (Xinhua) -- South Korean banks' lending rate to households hit the highest in over eight years amid higher policy rates, central bank data showed Thursday.

The weighted average rate of new loans by deposit-taking banks to households stood at an annualized rate of 4.14 percent in May, up 0.09 percentage points from the previous month, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).
