I’m a fashion expert – from push-up bras to knickers covered in rhinestones, these are the tackiest lingerie styles
A FASHION guru has revealed which lingerie styles will leave people thinking you’re tacky and make you look cheap.
We all want to wear lingerie that makes us feel our best – and bonus points if it gets your partner in the mood.
But with what feels like millions of push-up bras, thongs, seamless knickers and balconettes on the market, it’s easy to get overwhelmed – and just as easy to end up looking tacky and far from sexy.
Here, Fabulous’ fashion editor, Clemmie Fieldsend, reveals the four lingerie styles you’re best leaving in the store – or the bin.
Rhinestone everything
”In their heyday, Rhinestones on your La Senza bra to match you belly bar was at the height of underwear style, but these days they’re not as widely available on the market meaning it’s not in high demand and could be seen as dated,” the whizz warned.
”But perhaps with the resurgence of Y2K fashion the trend will make a roaring comeback.”

Super padded push-up bras
A little extra boost never did any harm – but it’s easy to go overboard and having your boobs spill over the top is certainly not the classiest look.
”Bras with two inches of padding are all well and good if you’re after a bust-boost,” Clemmie said.
However, ”when you’re wearing a fitted top over the top the illusion is lost, as the padding (after washing) can become pitting in the sponge and visible, and then become a focal point of your outfit instead of you”.

T-bar G-string
”Whale tales on show became a hit when Hailey Bieber wore a dress to the Met Gala in 2019 with a built in G-String.
”Hailey carried it off in style for the celeb-packed event but for us mere mortals, sure they guarantee no VPL, but more importantly they can just feel like you’re walking around with a wedgie all day.”

Slogans
There is nothing wrong with a little slogan here or there – but there’s a time and place for it.

”Knickers with slogans printed on the bum are intended to be seen and add a playful element to your bedtime looks, but they come with caution if you’re wearing them to during the day.
”Bending down in the supermarket aisle may cause your cheeky slogan to pop out and be read by strangers who weren’t meant to see it.”
