Last night Hull played at Hudds but it wasn't on TV and Huddersfield Town were away this weekend so as far as I can see it was a Giants decision. This means far less away fans in the ground and also a few thousand less watching the TV game.
Not just picking on Hudds because clubs seem to be scheduling games all over the place, at Hull we have played on Saturday and Sundays and only on Friday when on TV. This also leads to differences in time the players have to recover for the next game. We also still have Cas kicking off 30mins later than anyone else due to pub closing times from the 80s or something.
Surely it's not hard to say that when SKY have a game on Thursday and Friday no other games are played and all other games must kick off at Sunday 3pm (unless a specific reason with the ground being unavailable, Catalans on Saturday nights because that works for the travel)
Know that teams used to say Fridays were better for corporate sales but in this flexible working era is anyone actually meetings other humans for work on a Friday?
Just seems bizarre that the game actively puts away fans off and creates competition for its own TV games which ultimately means less TV revenue.
