Southwest Gas: Q2 Earnings Snapshot

LAS VEGAS (AP) _ Southwest Gas Corp. (SWX) on Tuesday reported a loss of $6.6 million in its second quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Las Vegas-based company said it had a loss of 10 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 23 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 53 cents per share.

The natural gas company posted revenue of $1.15 billion in the period.
