Father of ‘glasnost’ and ‘perestroika’ Gorbachev dies aged 91

Mikhail Gorbachev, who initiated major reforms and ended the Cold War without bloodshed, but failed to prevent the collapse of the Soviet Union, died on Tuesday (30 August) at the age of 91.
