Weekend preview: Bassett host top dogs Cribbs

There are important games for Royal Wootton Bassett Town's Men's and Women's first teams this weekend as the third month of the 2022-23 season gets started. The action begins on Saturday when Bassett welcome unbeaten Hellenic League Premier Division leaders Cribbs to the Sustain Stadium (3pm kick off). Sam Collier's side were well beaten when they hosted Cribbs last season, losing 4-1. However Bassett did pick up an impressive point away at the eventual third place finishers, coming from 2-0 down to draw 2-2. Admission for Saturday's fixture is £6 for adults, £3 for concessions and free for RWBTFC youth members. Then on Sunday, Bassett are in Vitality Women's FA Cup action with a second qualifying round trip to Somerset side Middlezoy Rovers (2pm kick off). Having lost at the first hurdle in each of the past two seasons, Bassett will be hoping to get back to winning ways in the competition and book a place in the third qualifying round for the first time in club history. There's away action for the Development team on Saturday too - they look to build on their first win of the season against Stratton Juniors last Saturday when they travel to Odd Down Development in the Wiltshire Senior League Premier Division (3pm kick off).
