NATIONAL SUMMARY

Dry conditions are expected along the Eastern Seaboard today

as areas of high pressure in Florida and northern Maine

promote tranquil weather. However, wet weather will not be

far away as a front brings snow showers to the Upper Midwest

as well as rain and thunderstorms from Indiana and Illinois

to the Louisiana and Alabama Gulf coast. A separate storm

emerging from the Colorado Rockies today will generate cold

air and snow in the mountains. The clash of incoming cold

air and the warm air along the Gulf coast will produce the

risk of severe thunderstorms at night in the lower

Mississippi River Valley. Along the West Coast, a new storm

will bring windy conditions and rain to Northern and Central

California before spreading northward into the Northwest.
