AN IRISH traveller has shared the step-by-step routine to deep clean her hoover and remove all the dust and dirt.

But according to Bridget Walls, an Irish traveller, it’s important to tidy the household items you’re using to clean the house – and hoover is no exception.

Bridget, who regularly shares cleaning hacks on TikTok, said it was the first time she properly deep cleaner her hoover after moving in her new place.

The whizz, who’s amassed more than 251k followers, first started by removing the filter and using a shower head to wash away all the dust that had accumulated.

”It was so bad,” she exclaimed in the video, before pouring over a generous drizzle of thick bleach.

Armed with a kitchen sponge, Bridget then started scrubbing it quite vigorously.

”Make sure you don’t miss any parts,” the traveller reminded her fans.

Whilst the bleach was marinating and working its magic, Bridget poured some of the product in the pipe as well and gave it a shake.

To complete the process, the cleaning enthusiast rinsed it with water – ensure to do it a couple of times to get rid of all the dirt residue, she advised.

The final part, Bridget demonstrated, was cleaning the base of the hoover.

For this, the savvy whizz simply filled it up with water, squeezed in some dish washing liquid and used a sponge to brush it clean.

After she had rinsed it, the woman used a micro fibre towel to wipe it dry and assembled it all back together.

Whilst sharing the steps, Bridget also revealed a hack to make your hoover smell fabulous – laundry scent balls poured in a sock which is then placed inside.

”And that’s it – it’s all clean and ready to go.”

A fellow cleaning fan chuckled: ”The fact you clean your hoover like this has made me so happy.

”I do it and everyone else looks at me like I have 8 heads.”

Someone else added: ”I’m gonna do this to my Henry tomorrow. Hes in desperate need of some TLC.”

Another person shared a tip: ”get some essential oils in any fragrance and sprinkle it onto this filter and it makes your home smell amazing.”
