There are 259 candidates, including 31 women, in the fray. “BJP is facing challenges from Motha as well as CPI(M)-Congress. CPI(M) might get a few more seats due to the alliance but Tipra Motha appears stronger. No one can predict the outcome but Motha could be a strong factor in government formation,” says Professor Gautam Chakma, head of political science department, University of Tripura.
