FOODIES are going wild over a hack which means you can get perfectly even onion slices with almost no effort.
Onion is a staple in most savoury recipes – but we all know that cutting them is no easy task.
Fortunately, there is a simple trick that makes it a breeze, and people on social media are loving it.
One of those who gave this trick a go was Dustin Hadley, better known to his 4767k fans as That40yearguy on Instagram and TikTok.
According to Dustin, who was also recently stunned by a microwave hack, the answer is quite simple.
Sharing the game-changer of a cooking trick, the rising internet sensation revealed that all you need is a peeler.
To make the thin slices, perfect for healthy and nourishing salads, simply go with the utensil back and forward, and watch magic happen.
Completely stunned, the cooking enthusiast said: ”You’re telling me for 40 years I’ve been slicing onions and been scared I don’t cut myself every time, I could’ve been doing this?
”Ain’t no way,”’ he chuckled in the video.
The best part, the whizz added, was that there were no tears involved either.
”And I didn’t even cry!”
Fellow foodies were just as stunned at the discovery, with thousands liking the video and flocking to comments.

However, not everyone was impressed and will be trying this hack any time soon, with someone saying the slices were too thin.
”Might as well throw it in the food processor with the way the onions come out.”
”Nah that’s no good. Could have sliced 3 in that time. And that’s gunna make your eyes burn,” another reckoned.

According to Ashley Roark (@ashleyroark5), believed to be from the US, the answer is simple – kitchen roll.
Demonstrating the life-changing trick on TikTok, the mum first placed some paper roll in her plastic container before filling it up with water and a squeeze of washing soap.
Once the secret ingredients were all assembled together, Ashley put the lid on and gave the box a good shake.
A few seconds later, the cleaning enthusiast removed the lid and viewers were stunned by what they saw.
The kitchen roll had absorbed all the stains and the plastic container was as clear as it was on Day 1.
The game-changer of a hack has since taken the social media platform by storm, racking up a whopping 10.5million views and over 450k likes.
But although many tagged their pals to see the trick, others were less than impressed and claimed the paper towel didn’t do anything.
”Nahhh. It doesn’t work that easy. I’ve tried,” wrote one viewer.
Sharing their thoughts, TikTok fans also revealed how they tackle the issue, with one recommending sunlight.
”I just leave them out side and the color takes of. it takes two days but make sure it’s showing light.”
Another suggested: ”Just use baking soda or vinegar.”
