Leeds United Chat • Re: Georginio Rutter
It is ironic that Gelhardt goes out on loan when he would in all likelihood have had more opportunities than previously. As poor as Bamford is currently, if he gets injured the forward options cupboard looks very bare.
Whoever comes in as our new manager and potential saviour has to somehow etch some goal scoring and creativity prowess out of Bamford and Harrison, who are our only viable senior pro’s available in the forward line. This is a massive ask based on their current offerings.
A small glimmer of hope is that we are not the only team in this position. Most of the clubs around us do not have an in form forward. The same could be applied to a few suggested bigger clubs also.
This means we may need to rely on the ability of the younger players, who have a eye for goal, ie Summerville, Gnonto and possibly Aaronson. This is far from ideal and emphasises the perilous situation we are in.
