I got fined £400 by petty council after my dog ‘LOOKED through my fence’ … here’s the ridiculous ‘proof’ they sent

A DOG owner was left fuming after his local council fined him after his pooches were spotted “looking through a fence”.

The man was charged a huge £400 fine after failing to keep his two German shepherds within his property.

The Fraser Coast resident took to TikTok to rant about the bizarre fine he had received.

His dogs had managed to escape the property’s electric fence in the past as it included an emergency override feature in case something gets stuck.

Last month the dog-dad received a compliance notice from Fraser Coast council asking to make sure his “enclosure was adequate” and “suitably fenced” so the dogs couldn’t escape, attack anyone or “protrude over, under, through or around the fence”.

He had previously admitted to being in the wrong and fixed his gate situation by removing the electric gate and adding a manual gate hook.

The man then received a hefty £400 fine over failure to comply with the council’s guidance.

Attached to the fine was the bizarre “proof” – a photo of his two German shepherds looking through a gap in his fence.

The dog owner was left shocked as the image attached was dated two weeks before he had received the non-compliance notice from the council.

The dogs were also not outside of the property in the ‘proof’ but were only peeking through the gap.

“Sending me a picture of my dogs looking through a fence while you were walking up on the grass, what do you think they’re gonna do, they’re German shepherds,” the Fraser Coast resident argued on TikTok.

“Did they try and bite you, no? Have they ever bit another person, no?

“They’re German shepherds, not angry dogs, sturdy gate, no different to anyone else’s fences in the street.”

The man stressed how unfair the fine was, considering the photo evidence was taken two weeks before he had changed his gate.

“Seriously, you lot [the council] need to brush up on your paperwork skills,” he said.

“Are you telling me you’re fining me 14 days before I got your non-compliance issue?”

The Fraser Coast resident has posted several TikToks around his ongoing spats with his local council and hundreds of his followers have all offered their support.

One user wrote: “Not aggressive dogs in any way or a nuisance from what I can see. I’m sure every person who has owned a dog has had them escape at some point. Far out”.

Another said: “This is ridiculous”.

A Fraser Coast council spokesperson said that the dog owner was not fined for the animals “being able to see through the fence”.

“The fine was issued for not complying with a notice to improve the enclosure to ensure containment,” they said.

“The dogs had earlier jumped the fence. The owners were directed to make improvements to stop their pets escaping again, to which the owners did not comply.”

The council did not confirm why the resident had received the compliance notice 14 days after he allegedly breached the rules.

But yesterday the dog-dad, known as theangrymechanic888 on TikTok, posted a video with a caption reading ‘We won”.

His followers flocked to his comments congratulating him and commending him for “fighting his corner”.

One person commented: “Congratulations I’m glad it’s all over for you and your lovely puppies”.

Another joked: “Congrats bro & I reckon ya dogs should run for mayor!”.
