Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has arrived at court in New York ahead of former President Donald Trump’s expected surrender on history-making criminal charges. The charges involve payments made during the the 2016 campaign to silence claims of an extramarital sexual encounter. Trump attorney Joe Tacopina said Tuesday on “Good Morning America” that the former president’s appearance in court would be brief because the processing “does not take long.” Tacopina says Trump will maintain his innocence. Spectators lined up overnight to get a seat inside the courtroom, or even just a glimpse of Trump. Many of them were members of the news media.
