Nevada Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo has issued his first vetoes on a trio of Democratic-backed gun control bills. Legislators had approved the measures after contentious gun-control hearings in the state Senate and Assembly. His vetoes on Wednesday could be an early indication of how he'll respond to ambitious bills still making their way through the Legislature. On the gun-control bills, he says he won't support legislation that infringes on the constitutional rights of Nevadans. Democratic Assembly Majority Floor Leader Sandra Jauregui said she wished the governor “would put the safety of Nevadans ahead of partisan politics.”
