Fire officials say they found the body of a person after fire destroyed a hotel in southern Maine. The powerful blaze on Wednesday destroyed the Days Inn in Kittery, a town on the New Hampshire line. Officials with the Maine Fire Marshal’s Office said the body was found Thursday afternoon during an investigation. Officials said the identity of the victim is awaiting confirmation from the state medical examiner. They also said the cause and origin of the fire were still under investigation.
