US, Israel agree to sales of 25 more advanced F-35 fighter jets

JERUSALEM, Israel: Amid growing tensions with Iran, Israel's Defense Ministry said it will purchase 25 F-35 stealth fighter jets from the US, which will increase its arsenal of advanced aircraft from 50 to 75 jets.

Israel is the only country in the Middle East to fly the world's most advanced fighter jet, and the $3 billion purchase is set to be finalized in the coming months, the ministry added.
