France's justice reform bill could allow police to remotely activate the cameras, microphones and GPS of suspects' mobile phones, computers and other connected devices. The measure has been criticised as an authoritarian move by human rights groups, but Justice Minister Eric Dupond-Moretti said it would benefit just "dozens of cases a year," adding "people's lives will be saved" by the law.
