Analysts said with both Airtel and Vi increasing tariffs in the entry level segment, the timing of Jioâs launch of the new device and the tariff plan at a 20-30% discount to the market, even with a Rs 999 upfront payment for the device, may help the Mukesh Ambani-owned telco grab some 40% of the existing 250 million 2G subscribers.
