Brit pensioner, 77, beaten to death by intruders in his Spanish home as cops launch hunt for suspects

A BRITISH pensioner has died after being beaten to death by intruders who broke into his Spanish home.

The 77-year-old was rushed to hospital after being assaulted by burglars in Estepa near Seville around 7pm on Sunday evening.

He was admitted to the nearby Merced Hospital in Osuna but died in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Police have confirmed the victim was a British expat, as detectives hunt those responsible.

The dead man has only been identified so far by his initials – AHB.

Last year, an 80-year-old Brit pensioner was shot dead in her Costa Blanca flat.

Worried neighbours called police after a plumber received no answer when he knocked on the front door.

Her body was then discovered inside the residence.

Well-placed sources have said the victim had lived alone for several years after the death of her husband.

A source close to the investigation said the possibility she was shot by intruders in a violent burglary had not been ruled out.
