He told The Sun: “We are in discussion about different things we could do – whether we make it happen is another story but we’re talking about stuff.

“I’d love to do First Dates Hotel in Negril in Jamaica, that would be lovely. I’m sure there would be a lot of people who would apply.”

He’s also working on other new projects which he insists he “won’t talk about” right now, but he’s busy brainstorming: “There are a lot of things that I want to do. There’s always something.”

Nonetheless, his family at home in France won’t be tuning in, or impressed: “When shows get translated in France she watches it, but my mum is not obsessed with it, I’m her son and she really could not care less. Just like she doesn’t watch my brother, a cancer researcher, work. It’s just her son going to work and doing something.”

He also touched on overcoming his fear of public speaking through boxing: “When I was younger the thing that really helped me was boxing. I was always scared getting into the ring before a fight.

“I’d get sweaty and scared but that would go when I started boxing, the fear would go.

“So what I would say to myself when I did [public speaking] was just like boxing so you just enjoy it and get into the groove of things.

“I’m too old now [to become professional], I won’t see the punches coming. But when I was younger, yes – you had to be good and I was not good enough.”

Fred also confirmed that he was “moving on” from his travel show Gordon, Gino & Fred’s Road Trip.

His conversation was in conjunction with a campaign with Beware of the Bugs.
