Six people were killed, and two others were injured in a blast at an explosives factory in the Samara region of central Russia, according to Russian news media on Friday.
The Promsintez plant in Chapayevsk City was the site of the explosion.
The emergency services reported that “eight people were injured, six of whom died” at the Promsintez plant in the city of Chapayevsk, according to RIA Novosti.
They said the blast occurred “due to the dismantling of equipment during repair work.”
Promsintez is one of the major producers of industrial explosives in Russia and the former Soviet Union.
The Plant produces industrial explosives and chemicals specialising in ammonal, nitric acid, technical sulfuric acid, explosive cartridge detonators and other products.
Five people were killed in an explosion at an explosives factory in Russia’s Tambov region last month. At the time, Tambov Governor Maxim Yegorov declared that the explosion was the result of “human error” and “definitely not [the result of] a terrorist attack.”
