Mets Select Prep Shortstop A.J. Ewing at No. 134 Overall

According to Perfect Game, Ewing has the ability play shortstop, second base, and third base as well. He is nationally ranked as the No. 20 shortstop by Perfect Game and the No. 2 shortstop in Ohio.

Ewing has the ability to reach an exit velocity off the bat of 94 mph. He has a 6.46 60-yard dash, and a 1.48 10-yard split.

Ewing is a left-handed hitter who attacks the ball aggressively at the plate. He has a quick bat with raw bat speed and a big jump off the barrel.

He is known as being primarily a middle infielder with great athleticism, good body control, and the ability to release the ball quickly with good arm strength, length, and carry.
