'Nopenheimer': Sinema dragged for trying out 'Barbie' and 'Oppenheimer' mash-up trend
Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) was mocked by social media users Thursday after the senator attempted to take part in an online trend involving the combination of "Barbie" and "Oppenheimer" aesthetics.
Sinema, who has been criticized for findings in her campaign finance reports, earlier Thursday posted two images, one with her all in pink and the other featuring a black and white filtered photo of herself, with the following text: "
By 'both' do you think she means letting rich hedge-fund managers get away with massive tax breaks while also pushing millions of children into poverty by blocking expansion of the Child Tax Credit?"
Writer Molly Jong-Fast, who has previously criticized GOP lawmakers for lacking both common sense and shame, had two replies. In the comments on Sinema's post, Jong-Fast wrote, "Nopenheimer." Then in a quoted reply, she said, "But this one does neither."
A page for the Justice Democrats wrote, "This barbie votes against a livable minimum wage."
Keith Olbermann was even harsher on the senator, saying, "You have failed, as a senator and as a person. Get the f--k out of here."
Frank Lesser, identified as a former Emmy-winning writer for Colbert, also added to the discussion.
"And just like Barbie you can be bought by anyone with enough cash," Lesser wrote.
