U.S. stocks close mixed amid disappointing tech earnings

NEW YORK, July 20 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Thursday as investors weighed a batch of disappointing earnings from technology companies.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 163.97 points, or 0.47 percent, to 35,225.18. The S&P 500 lost 30.85 points, or 0.68 percent, to 4,534.87. The Nasdaq Composite Index dropped 294.71 points, or 2.05 percent, to 14,063.31.
