Woman reveals how she gave kitchen floors upgrade without forking out on new tiles, but trolls all say the same thing
A DIY enthusiast has revealed the clever way she gave her kitchen a glow up, but trolls all say she made a grave mistake.
Taking to social media, the woman shared a series of photos of her kitchen floors, which were covered in a black tiles.
But after having found some colourful stickers online from retail giant Shein, she quickly got to work covering the tiles up.
She simply lined up the stickers, which were of different designs and patterns, on the floor and stuck them in place.
The woman then shared a photo of what it looked like once she was done, which appeared to bring some life into the space.
The stickers covered the entire space, from the entrance to the kitchen, spreading out into every corner.
“Not bad for stickers,” she wrote in the caption with a crying with laughter emoji.
While it looked impressive, many were left with the same thought and took to the comments section on the post shared on Facebook’s DIY On a Budget UK group.
“They will peel with moping mine looked beautiful to begin with,” one person warned her.
Another said: “Looks amazing, I would put a top coat on it to protect when mopping x”.
A third asked: “Do you varnish over the top to make it okay to mop??” to which she replied: “I didn’t, no, but thinking maybe I should”.
And another said: “Could you put a layer of lacquer over to seal them?” to which she replied: “Didn’t think of that, good idea”.
Others, however, were really keen on the idea and immediately asked where she got them from.
“May I know where you purchased the fab stick on tiles … Your floor looks FAB,” one person asked, to which she replied: “I got them from the Shein app, thank you”.
And when another questioned how much it cost to do the entire kitchen, she revealed: “Altogether these cost me £40 in stickers”.
