Christine was standing in for the Scottish presenter, 63, for her hour-long show today.

The change came in a morning which saw ITV’s flagship breakfast series Good Morning Britain being cancelled – leaving fans up in arms.

It was prompted due to the broadcaster’s decision to air the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 clash between Philippines versus Switzerland, which ended at 0-2.

Despite the upheaval, the Lorraine show at 9am still kept its slot – yet this will not be the case for long.

While closing today’s show, Loose Women presenter Christine warned viewers they will be light on their Lorraine dose in upcoming weeks.

She said: “It’s the World Cup next week – so we are back on Wednesday and Friday.

“Have a great weekend.”

This means Lorraine will not air on Monday July 24, Tuesday July 25 and Thursday July 27.

At the same time, Good Morning Britain will also face more schedule upheaval due to the sports tournament.

The exact date it will return has now been revealed – this being Thursday 27th July, when it will be cut short for football airing at 8am.

Lorraine will be taken off air completely that day and This Morning will start at a later time of 10.45am.

The Chase has also seen its show switched – with an extra episode today at 8.05am as well as at its regular 5pm slot.

Meanwhile, England’s Women’s Team will face Haiti in their World Cup opener tomorrow.

BBC and ITV are set to share TV coverage of all 64 World Cup games including England’s clashes with their group D rivals Haiti, Denmark and China.

The Lionesses’ will face Haiti at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia, with the game kicking off at 10.30am UK time.

This will be followed by a July 28 clash with Denmark at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney.

They will then play China on August 1 at the Hindmarsh Stadium in Adelaide.
