Connecticut Sun stars Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner announce engagement

Connecticut Sun players Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner have gotten engaged, Thomas announced on her Instagram on Friday morning.

Thomas and Bonner first went public with their relationship in 2021. Bonner helped Thomas as she navigated recovering from a torn Achilles tendon that year.

The duo lead the way for Connecticut this season. Thomas is averaging 14.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 1.9 steals per game, while Bonner is averaging 18.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. They were both named 2023 WNBA All-Star reserves and competed in Las Vegas last weekend.

The Sun (16-6) are back in action Saturday when they take on the Atlanta Dream (12-9) on the road. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. on ESPN.
