CT man pleads guilty to sexually assaulting minor in Bristol

A Bristol man has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a minor in 2019.

Aaron Plummer, 36, took a plea bargain Thursday in New Britain Superior Court, pleading guilty to one felony count of second-degree sexual assault, according to judicial records.

Plummer, who had previously indicated he would pursue a trial, had faced charges of illegal sexual contact and fourth-degree sexual assault prior to Thursday’s plea deal. Court records indicate the sexual assault stems from an incident in Bristol in July 2019 and that the victim was younger than 16 at the time. Plummer would have been 32.

Plummer was charged in the matter in June 2020. His case has been pending since then.

Plummer is free on a $50,000 bond while he awaits sentencing. He is due back in court on Oct. 12.
