A CT man who had a loaded 9 mm gun allegedly threatened two people
A convicted felon barred from having guns was arrested with a loaded firearm in Waterbury after he allegedly made threats toward two people, police said.
Jonathan Vega, 31, of Waterbury was arrested on two counts of first-degree threatening and a single count each of second-degree breach of peace, criminal possession of pistol or revolver, criminal possession of firearm, illegal sale or transfer of firearm, illegal possession of weapon in a motor vehicle, alerting or removing identification marks and “various motor vehicle related charges,” according to the Waterbury Police Department.
Police said officers were called at about 6:41 p.m. Thursday to the area of Farmcrest Drive on a report of an alleged incident involving threats. The female complainant told officers she received messages from Vega threatening to harm her and another individual, police said. The complainant and Vega are known to each other, police said.
Shortly thereafter, police said they located Vega at an unspecified nearby location where he had a loaded 9 mm firearm.
Waterbury police said Vega was placed under arrest, though a bond has not been set because he is receiving medical treatment.
