I tried Boots’ £3 make-up range – the concealer was cakey but I’d recommend some of it if you were on a budget

A BEAUTY enthusiast – and former employee at Charlotte Tilbury – has shared her honest verdict on the Boots’ £3 make-up range.

Achieving the perfect make-up look can oftentimes be costly – but do you really need to splurge out? Well, one TikTok user, Maggie A., decided to find out for herself, nabbing a pile of affordable make-up for just £3 and under.

The beauty enthusiast, who recently revealed a controversial thing about working at Charlotte Tilbury, took to TikTok after ordering cheap products from Boots.

The brand – Natural Collection – is something Maggie used to buy when growing up, as it was all she could afford sometimes.

”Every product on the Boots’ website from this brand is £3 or under, which is so inexpensive,” she said in her video.

Armed with a pile of goodies, Maggie first started by applying the Long Lasting 15-hour Wear foundation in the shade Cameo.

After going in with a brush, the beauty enthusiast was amazed by the quality of the £2.99 bargain buy, saying it was ”blending so nicely”.

”Why does this look so good?” she couldn’t believe her eyes.

Sadly, it then took a sharp turn, as Maggie tried a concealer despite the product being too dark for her skin.

Unfortunately, whilst the concealer was cheap, the beauty fanatic described it as ”cakey and weird”, before attempting to rescue the fail with a posh concealer by Huda Beauty.

Now back on track, Maggie tested out the Matte Pressed Powder in the shade Cool, which she applied with an adorable powder puff.

”I’m impressed with that powder, considering it went over two layers of concealer and one was hella cakey.

”That looks really nice,” she told the 343k followers on her page.

Just as pleased, it seems, she was with the next affordable buy on the list – the Bronzing Powder she had nabbed in the shade Golden Glow.

After opening the package, Maggie noted that there was a little bit of shimmer to it and said it looked ”nice”.

The following step was seeing how the Powder Blusher in the shade Rosy Glow looked on her skin – and the shopper couldn’t stop raving about it.

”Someone has got to be having me on! This has got to be a joke – how are these under £3?”

For her eyebrows, the beauty enthusiast put to test two items – a brow pencil, which was then described as ”waxy”, as well as a brow gel that Maggie wasn’t particularly blown away by.

Luckily, in the eyeshadow department, where each of the products were £1, things were performing better, as Maggie achieved a natural smokey look in a mere two minutes.

This was then paired with a liquid eyeliner which she said was ”shockingly good”.

One thing she did say she wouldn’t recommend wasting your money on was the mascara – despite going in with a few coats, Maggie said it was doing ”nothing” for her lashes.

Moving onto lips, the TikTok star shared her thoughts on the 2-in-1 Lipstick Liner in the shade Pink Souffle.

”Don’t really love the colour,” said Maggie who said it was ”more on the sheer side”.

At the end of the clip, the shopper said: ”I think my most favourite part of this make-up for me is definitely the eyes and the skin – minus the concealer.

”I am genuinely so impressed with how this all looks on my skin.

”I don’t think you would actually believe me if I told you that all of this make-up came to £30 – and it did.

”If you’re on a budget, I’d highly recommend some of those products.”
