Despite the weather some of Ireland’s top and rising show jumping combinations lined out to contest the grand final of the 2023 Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) Show Jumping Studbook Series. Taking place at the Tattersalls July Show, running in aid of the St Francis Hospice, the two-day mid-week event proved popular despite the poor weather conditions. Tuesday saw fierce competition in each of the three age categories, with only 25 qualifying places up for grabs for Wednesday’s final. Husband and wife combination Marti Rudd and Tomas Doyle proved unbeatable. Doyle’s sizeable lead built up over the course of the series combined with a third place finish in the final leg saw him finish on 37 points with Monbeg Ruby (ISH).
