The central African nation of Burundi is the world’s cheapest at just 46p.

Nine out of the ten lowest-priced cities were in Africa, including Madagascar, Rwanda and Libya.

Meanwhile a pint in Laos, South East Asia, comes in at just 79p.

Analysis of 166 cities by comparison site finder.com confirmed

London as the UK’s most expensive with a pint averaging £5.90.

That was almost twice the best value place — Derby, where the average was £3.

The report added: “If you’re looking to save money when spending overseas, the African continent seems to offer more accessible prices. “Bujumbura in Burundi takes the crown for the cheapest price.”

Doha, in last year’s World Cup host nation Qatar, was most expensive globally at an eye-watering average of £10.47.

Iceland, Norway and Finlands’ capitals were the priciest in Europe at £7.81, £7.13 and £6.33.
