I was blown away to discover secret compartment in my car… but trolls mocked me mercilessly

A DRIVER has been stunned to discover a secret compartment in his car – but has faced online mockery by trolls.

The motorist posted footage of him opening up what he took to be a surprise find at the front of his VW Beetle.

The account called AngryBritain posted the nine-second clip on TikTok, with the words: “I’ve had the car six months and had no idea this was here!”

But commenters lined up to dismissively provide the same answer, pointing out it’s an ash tray.

One jibed: “What secret compartment? That is an ash tray” – adding a series of laughter emojis.

Other TikTokers have proved more helpful when it comes to cars, however.

Social media users have shared advice about certain hidden car features which can help in an emergency, to either get inside when locked out or to escape through the boot.

Motorists have discovered other secret aspects in their cars – including the black dots on the windscreen and the fuel pump hack.

Plus, drivers were warned about a ‘deadly’ car theft hack that has been shared on social media.

And there has been help offered in dealing with a dead car key battery – as well as revelations about a little-known, cash-saving “hack” to increase space in the back of the car.

Motoring experts have also revealed “hacks” which can help save money, such as when removing dents or scuffs as well as jet-washing.

And a TikTok user went viral online when advising against misfuelling your car, which can ruin its engine – while another revealed a “must-have” for motorists.
