I created a gorgeous yard feature for under $5 – I used a free tire as the planter and a Dollar Tree bargain

A DIY TikToker has revealed how she revamped a planter for pennies on the dollar.

“So, I wanted to show you guys how I created this tire planter for under $5,” the millennial mom told viewers as she bent down next to her turquoise tire-turned-planter.

Wearing purple leggings – and a yellow tank top with a matching baseball cap – she explained how she got the goods that she has since turned into a glorious garden.

“First, I got the tire from a used tire shop, he was giving it away for free,” said JaziMae (@jazmindaboss).

With spray paint left over from a previous project, she was able to paint the planter town an eye-catching shade of blue.

The TikToker shared the other frugal finds that added to the overall curb appeal of the transformed DIY planter – as she pointed out a small-wooden sign from the Dollar Tree that read: All things grow with love.

“I used my clearance plants that I got the other day to fill in the front, and I used some of my leftover flower seeds from my previous plantings,” she explained.

In the caption, she clarified that she filled the bottom – and inside of the tire with woodchips – and leaves from her yard.

With purple, pink, and yellow flowers already sprouting from inside the tire, she was excited for her “little butterfly garden” to be complete.

JaziMae also shared a warning of what not to grow in this type of planter, regardless of how posh it might look.

“You don’t really wanna grow food in a tire because the tire secretes poison, and chemicals, into the soil. So, you really don’t want to use that as something for you to eat.”

She does explain that flowers, however, are safely able to flourish in the tire environment.

Another caption revealed that the DIYer scored four packs of seeds for $1 from the Dollar Store.

Many of her over 7,000 followers shared their feelings on the pretty tire planter.

“That color you choose is pretty nice!” exclaimed one viewer.

“Great advice!” commented another fan of the flower trick.
