Chicago Bears Get Ideal News With Final Week 1 Injury Report

0

The Chicago Bears are on a mission in week one to finally put the Green Bay Packers down after six straight defeats since 2019. For that, they’re going to need everybody at their best. It wasn’t certain if that would be the case after the injury reports on Wednesday and Thursday left it uncertain if several starters would play. Thankfully, Friday always tells the true story. Based on the latest update, the Bears are ready to go. Jaquan Brisker, Eddie Jackson, DeMarcus Walker, and Nate Davis all practiced in full.

That means they will suit up on Sunday.

The biggest concern throughout the week was Davis. Chicago’s offensive line was already in a depleted state, with Teven Jenkins going on Injured Reserve with a calf injury. Davis had practiced for most of training camp and then missed another this week for “personal reasons.” It wasn’t revealed what the issue was. Head coach Matt Eberflus stated the guard has since returned and looked great in Friday’s practice. Together with a fully-staffed defense, the Bears are as ready as they’ll ever be for this game.

The Chicago Bears at least have that advantage over Green Bay.

Their injury situation isn’t nearly as clean, especially at wide receiver. Romeo Doubs has only just returned from a hamstring injury and hasn’t yet had a full practice. Even worse, Christian Watson hasn’t practiced all week with a hamstring issue of his own. He appeared to miss Friday’s practice as well. That is a likely sign he will miss the game on Sunday. Considering how thin Green Bay was at wide receiver, to begin with, this is a tough situation for new quarterback Jordan Love to deal with.

Don’t expect the Chicago Bears to have any sympathy. The Packers have enjoyed a long, dominant run over them for years. Several players on the roster are tired of it. They’ve promised a lot of intensity and physicality in this game. This is a team that won’t be pushed around anymore. Of course, there is a difference between saying it and proving it. The good news they’ll have 21 of their 22 projected starters on hand to help make it happen.
