Pope Francis is travelling to the French port city of Marseille to join Catholic bishops in a meeting focusing on the Mediterranean and migration. The visit was planned months ago but it comes amid a new influx of migrants to Lampedusa that has sparked talk in European capitals of imposing a naval blockade on Tunisia. It’s a policy Francis has long condemned. But the question is whether anyone in European corridors of power will listen.
