The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, September 20, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
An area of high pressure off the mid-Atlantic coast will
allow dry weather to persist from southern New England into
the Tennessee Valley and Carolinas today. However, farther
south, a stalled front across the Florida Peninsula will
generate rounds of showers and thunderstorms across much of
the state, leading to localized flooding. A storm moving
through the Plains will also produce showers and
thunderstorms, which will be most numerous during the
afternoon hours. Meanwhile, much of the Southwest will turn
drier. In the Northwest, a storm will dive southward,
bringing showers and higher-elevation snow to parts of
Idaho, Washington and Oregon. Cooler conditions will also
move into the Northwest.
