Turkish warplanes have launched a new round of airstrikes against Kurdish militant targets in Iraq. The strikes on Wednesday came hours after the foreign minister warned that Turkey will hit their positions in Iraq and Syria in response to a suicide attack in Ankara. The minister said that the militant group will “regret” having carried out the bombing. The outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party or PKK claimed responsibility for the attack outside the Interior Ministry on Sunday. Two police officers were wounded in the attack. Wednesday's airstrikes were the third against suspected Kurdish militant sites in northern Iraq following Sunday’s attack.
