NATIONAL SUMMARY
As Philippe approaches Atlantic Canada and Maine, heavy
rain, strong winds and rough seas will expand northward
while a cold front pushes eastward across the Northeast
tomorrow. The front with air more typical of November in its
wake will stretch from Vermont to Florida. Rain is in store
along the front with a few embedded thunderstorms,
especially in southern New England and New Jersey. Expect
chilly showers and locally gusty winds to sweep from eastern
Minnesota through Wisconsin and northern Michigan. Much of
the zone from the Southeast through the Plains and the
Pacific coast will be dry and sunny. Meanwhile, heat will
grip areas of the West Coast, with temperatures in some
parts of California soaring into the lower to middle 90s.
