NATIONAL SUMMARY

An intensifying storm will carry a cold front eastward

today, with showers and breezy conditions stretching from

Minnesota across the Great Lakes region and as far south as

Mississippi. Afternoon thunderstorms may occur along the

southern end of the front, including central Tennessee and

Kentucky. Otherwise, the eastern half of the nation will

generally benefit from high pressure remaining in place,

with dry conditions for most outside of some showers along

the eastern coast of Florida. A substantial change will take

place on the East Coast from Friday to Saturday as a storm

develops with rain and wind. Elsewhere, a second and larger

zone of high pressure will ensure a dry day with a sunshine

over much of the West as heat continues in the Southwest.
