Authorities say they are investigating the killing of a Southern California prison inmate as a homicide. Corrections officials say guards used seven applications of pepper spray to quell Sunday's attack on 29-year-old Enrique Saucedo in the recreational yard at Centinela State Prison in Imperial County. He was taken by ambulance to a medical center, where he died in the emergency room. The two alleged attackers, who are each serving sentences for murder, were placed in restricted housing during the investigation. Officials say two inmate-manufactured weapons were recovered at the scene.
