President Joe Biden says U.S. military strikes against Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen will continue but acknowledges the American and British bombardment has yet to stop the militants’ attacks on vessels in the Red Sea that have bedeviled global shipping. A U.S. official says the United States conducted a fifth strike targeting another missile launcher site Thursday morning. Biden said the U.S. would continue the strikes in an exchange with reporters on Thursday before leaving the White House for a domestic policy speech in North Carolina. Biden says, “When you say working, are they stopping the Houthis, no. Are they going to continue, yes." National Security Council spokesman John Kirby says the strikes will continue as long as needed.
