The Houthi militants in Yemen have given Iran a useful tool to raise the temperature on both Israel and the United States from afar. For Iran, supporting the Houthis is both convenient and highly beneficial. As a proxy, the Houthis give Tehran access to the Red Sea and the Suez Canal – an enormously strategic asset.
