A far-right, unofficial Catholic media site has agreed to pay $500,000 to a New Hampshire priest who sued for defamation over a 2019 article. And the priest’s attorney says the media site is planning to shut down soon. That wasn’t immediately confirmed by Church Militant or its parent company, St. Michael’s Media. But its online store announced a liquidation sale. Church Militant formally apologized to the Rev. Georges de Laire, an official with the Diocese of Manchester, over an article that depicted him harshly. This follows the November resignation of St. Michael’s Media founder and president, Michael Voris, over an unspecified breach of its morality clause.
